Dental Bonding Ann ArborWhen it comes to cosmetic imperfections in your teeth, there are a lot of different routes you can go seeking repairs. Some of them give dazzling results with a not so dazzling bill close behind. Here at Everwell Dentistry, we understand the damage that broken or chipped teeth can cause on not only the functionality of your smile but your confidence and self-esteem as well. There are, however, cheaper ways to get fantastic fixes to your smile in no time at all. For projects like these, we use a process called dental bonding. What Is Dental Bonding? Many people suffer from cracked or otherwise damaged teeth throughout their life. Sifting through all of the different options for repairs can be tedious and overwhelming. In the meantime, you suffer from your damaged teeth and an injured self-esteem. Veneers or crowns require your tooth’s enamel to be removed, so the tooth will permanently require a restoration of some kind. This can add up quite a bill if there is any damage later on. Fortunately, dental bonding can quickly and affordably repair the damage. Dental bonding is a composite resin that we can sculpt to exactly repair your cosmetically unappealing but otherwise healthy tooth. This resin is applied and hardened on your tooth layer by layer. It can repair some different afflictions. If you have stubborn teeth whose stains won’t lift, regardless of how many different whiteners you try, bonding can cover the discoloration. It can also be used to fill in chips and cracks that may inhibit your smile from being as beautiful as you would like it to be. We can lengthen teeth that do not match others, correct teeth that are slightly crooked and fill in the gaps between teeth as well. Finally, bonding can be used as an alternative to metal fillings, which means that your smile will be as beautiful as ever without worry that people will see your fillings. How Does Dental Bonding Work?Dental bonding is an effective treatment and is relatively simple to understand. It takes a skilled and careful hand to accomplish correctly, so here you are in great hands. The first thing that we are going to do is prepare the tooth, lightly chemically etching the surface. This gives the resin something to stick to, as it will simply fall off a smooth, fresh tooth. It is totally safe. Then, we will apply the resin and mold it to the correct size and shape. Once it looks as it should, we continue to harden the resin with a specially designed curing light.Everwell Dentistry wants to please you and your wallet. Composite bonding is a great way to provide you with a beautiful smile and a happy wallet. For more information on the process and how it works, be sure to give us a call today.
