Integrate Oral Care into Your Schedule


One guaranteed way to ensure that oral health care is not neglected is to commit certain periods of time for oral care. The most common example would be brushing teeth; consciously making teeth brushing a part of the morning and bedtime routines will turn the practice into an established habit that protects and fortifies teeth. Also, scheduling the next dental appointment before ending the current dental appointment will help patients maintain a routine schedule of dental check-ups, diagnostic tests, and cleanings.

Preventing Oral Health Problems Is Better Than Responding to Them


Many oral health care complications can be mitigated or avoided entirely by positive behavioral changes. Refraining from excessive drinking or any smoking can reduce the risk of gingivitis and lower the risks of oral cancer to miniscule levels. For patients that cannot avoid acidic foods and drinks, rinsing with pH-neutral water immediately after eating, then brushing teeth roughly 30 minutes after eating, can reduce the damage. Using toothpaste and mouthwash with fluoride fortifies enamel, rendering teeth more resistance to cavities and caries.
